MesaMax™8240

For the ultimate in ruggedization, MesaMax™ is a totally sealed dual processor workstation. The MesaMax™ houses Xeon® 5600 processors, up to 48GB of main memory, single or dual 22” displays and supports three removable 1.2TB SSD magazines (3.6TB total). High performance nVidia® Quadro® FX1800 graphics is standard. Operating range of -32°C to 60°C. This workstation is intended for outdoor use in direct sunlight or indoor. Inspired by the U.S. Army’s UAS/UAV requirements (i.e., first use with AAI Corporation® Shadow® UAV), this workstation is the ultimate package for environmental survival.

The MesaMax™8240 provides the following features :

  • Rugged fully sealed machined aluminum chassis that provides extreme protection from the harshest conditions.
  • UP to 12 x 1.8” SSD, 300GB per drive for a total of 3.6STB of removable storage. Organized into three 4 drive magazines locked behind a sealed door that can be opened without tools.
  • Customized Rugged Transit Case provides added protection and easy storage/transportation of the unit and its accessories. Most are rated to IP-67 and Mil-STD 810G
  • Intel® Xeon® processors pack 6 advanced CPU cores per processor and 12MB of cache on each chip. Each core can operate at speeds up to 3.33GHz. Add to that the three-way interleaved DDR3 memory connected directly to the integrated memory controller and you have an amazing computing platform. Dual processors provide 12 CPU cores and 24 simultaneous execution threads. This is more than enough to keep up with all the background tasks and keep the graphics pipeline saturated to peak performance. Thus efficiency and throughput is assured.

MesaMax Spec Sheet

MesaMax™ workstations are designed for outdoor operation in bright sunlight or driving rain over a wide range of operating conditions. The product has been tested and meets nearly all MIL STD 810G requirements. Operating temperature range of -32°C to 60°C. An option external UPS is available.

MesaMax™ workstations feature today’s graphics processing cards that provide the utmost in massively parallel floating point processing. No longer just a graphics processor, MaxVision® supports selected nVidia® Quadro® 1800 which can provide more than 200 advanced processing cores and up to 2GB of integral memory connected to the CPU and main memory via second generation PCIe x16, providing up to 8GB/Sec of interconnect bandwidth. In addition to traditional OpenGL 3D APIs, the parallel processing development environments such as CUDA (nVidia® proprietary) and Open GL provide high-level vector processing environments that allow applications programmers to harness the SIMD (single instruction multiple data path), which in the recent past was only practical as custom micro-programmed Open GL engines. With these tools, advanced applications programmers can harness these floating point vector processing resources directly.
